FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about VisoFlow, from data ownership and security to pricing and platform capabilities.

Security & ownership

Where does our data live when using VisoFlow?

Your data stays within clearly defined infrastructure boundaries, and ownership always remains with you. VisoFlow provides a managed execution layer for your SQL-based logic while your underlying data sources remain under your control. Customer lake data is stored in open Parquet under storage paths the customer holds the keys to.

Can VisoFlow access or reuse our data?

No. VisoFlow does not own, sell or reuse your data for any purpose. We act strictly as a managed execution layer, processing data only to run the process flows your business logic defines.

Is data processing inside VisoFlow a black box?

No. All processing steps are transparent. You can always see exactly what data was used, what rules were applied and what results were produced, with no hidden proprietary code.

How does VisoFlow support compliance and audits?

Flow processes can be audited through Command Center process monitoring: what ran, when, what it touched and what failed. Per-user logging of individual UI actions does not exist yet, and we will not tell an auditor otherwise.

Who owns the business logic built in VisoFlow?

You do. All business rules and logic developed within the platform remain your company's property. VisoFlow claims no ownership over the intellectual property you build.

Reliability & support

What happens if VisoFlow has an outage?

A deployed flow runs start to finish independently of the control interface, so an interruption there does not stop work already scheduled. Operational alerts go to both you and your customer, and failures name the exact layer and query that broke. We do not publish an uptime percentage or a contractual SLA today, and we would rather tell you that than promise one.

Can our team troubleshoot without depending entirely on VisoFlow?

Yes. Processing logic is clear and never hidden, so your internal team can understand exactly what is happening and diagnose problems without depending on the vendor for every minor fix.

Can we run it inside our own cloud account?

No, and that is deliberate. Splitting one operating environment across two organizations splits responsibility for it too. VisoFlow runs one production model: a dedicated account per vendor, operated by VisoFlow.

Flexibility & exit

Is VisoFlow a custom development service?

No. VisoFlow is a platform, not a custom development team. That distinction is what makes your process flows stable, scalable and predictable instead of bespoke and hard to maintain.

Will we be locked into VisoFlow long-term?

No. Because we use open standards throughout, you can take your data and your logic elsewhere without rewriting everything. Our goal is to earn your business through reliability, not by trapping your intellectual property.

What does an exit from VisoFlow look like?

Your customer downloads their own Parquet using their own keys — self-service, today. Transformation logic exports as standard SQL and runs unchanged on any Presto-family engine pointed at the same files. No exit fee, no proprietary conversion step.

Cost & scale

Why not just use Excel, scripts or cron jobs?

You can, but those methods are fragile and need constant manual intervention. VisoFlow provides a reliable, fault-tolerant structure that runs your process flows at scale without babysitting, automating execution, logging and retries by default.

How does VisoFlow help control infrastructure costs?

VisoFlow scales and optimizes resource usage automatically. Running on serverless infrastructure means you use the power needed for specific executions rather than paying for idle servers.

Can't we build this internally?

You can. If you already have the servers, the software and a trained team, you can build a custom system. But building internally requires significant time and a long-term commitment to maintaining a platform team. VisoFlow is for teams who want faster results and lower operational risk without owning a platform that isn't their product.

Will VisoFlow scale as our company grows?

Yes. The platform is designed to handle an increasing number of process flows, teams and reliability requirements without a sharp increase in management complexity.

Is VisoFlow a short-term or long-term solution?

Long-term. It is for companies that have outgrown manual processes but don't want to build and maintain an expensive internal platform.

Who do I need to hire to use VisoFlow?

Nobody with a DevOps, cloud or data-architecture title. VisoFlow is designed for people who understand your business domain and know SQL. One person with business knowledge can manage what used to require an entire data engineering team.

Fit & limitations

Who is VisoFlow not designed for?

VisoFlow is not a general-purpose coding platform, a full data warehouse replacement, or a data science and model development tool. If your primary need is advanced statistical modelling, deep learning or highly custom algorithm development, a dedicated data science platform may fit better. VisoFlow excels at structured, repeatable, SQL-based business data processing.

What if more complex manipulations are needed?

We provide SDKs — Python and Rust — that work directly with your lakehouse. Your team handles complex manipulation in a language they already use while the platform manages execution and reliability.

Is manual update of data in the lakehouse allowed?

No. Lakehouse access is read-only to ensure data integrity and auditability. All data operations go through established process flows, so every change is tracked and repeatable. To update information you prepare a new source and run it as a new process flow.
